Crafted in the heart of Jamaica, the story of Appleton Estate started over 270 years ago in the one-of-a-kind mystical location known as the Nassau Valley. The one word that makes Appleton Estate unique is ‘karst’. A karst is a rare landscape made of cone-like limestone hill formations, caves and underground water sources. The terrain naturally filters the rain producing streams of clear, azure water giving extraordinary flavour to the local sugar cane grown in the area. In 1997, Joy Spence was appointed Master Blender, becoming the first woman to hold the title in the spirits industry.
