A blend of Highland malt whiskies, Gladstone Axe has been matured in American oak casks. The bottles feature a portrait of an axe-bearing William Gladstone, who as well as served four terms as Prime Minister of the UK, was a fan of felling trees in his spare time. The brand and both blended malts have been created by Elwyn Gladstone, the founder of Biggar & Leith and the great-great-great grandson of William Gladstone.
