Grand Marnier

Grand Marnier was made in France from a secret recipe created by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle in 1880. A connoisseur of fine cognac, Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle had the eccentric idea of blending fine cognac with an exotic variety of orange from the Caribbean the "Citrus bigaradia". At the time, oranges were luxury items, consumed mostly at special occasions, like Christmas.

More than 150 years and six generations after its creation, the Marnier Lapostolle founding family still manages and directs the company. The family is intent on keeping the legacy of Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle alive and well.
